We want to introduce the Kiriakides family to you! It is rare to see an entire family come together to serve in Grace Church Kids but the Kiriakides have been doing just that for the past three years. Parents Mike and Debbie knew they wanted to begin serving at Grace and began looking for just the right fit. They soon realized that their three girls also wanted to serve. They decided that they could all serve together, and, in doing so, create some extra family time as well.
When asked how they chose the Hermit Crabs toddlers’ class, Debbie said, “The toddlers’ nursery was where the need was. So no further thought was given. We were destined for Diaperville!” Daughters Ana, Alexis, and Arlena enjoy kids and babysit often, so the toddler’s class was also a natural fit for them. All five Kiriakides family members say they are enjoying watching the developmental progress of the little ones. One of their favorite things about toddlers is watching them go from “not quite mobile” to having learned to walk. We agree; it’s sweet to watch them grow almost right before your eyes.
All three Kiriakides girls are teenagers now, which usually means family time is hard to come by. But the Kiriakides have found a way to love kids, serve the church, and enjoy their time together all at once. Debbie’s advice to others? “Just jump in somewhere and do it. The reward is much greater than the effort. And doing it as a family is fun.”
Thanks Mike, Debbie, Ana, Alexis and Arlena! We appreciate your example of love for each other, for the toddlers, and for the church.
